JDRF was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) with one powerful mission: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. That remains JDRF’s constant focus today. JDRF-funded research has led to tremendous advances in the understanding and treatment of T1D. JDRF continues to push forward the development of technologies to improve the lives of people with T1D, along with advancing therapeutics to cure the disease.
